In Oct., the Ninilchik Community Library will be taking part in InkTober, a month-long drawing event.

Starting Oct 1, a list of 31 daily prompts will be posted in the library. The goal is to use just an ink pen to draw your interpretation of each day's prompt. Light sketching first is recommended, and you can draw the prompts daily, every other day, weekly, or whatever amount fits your schedule. The goal is just to be as creative as possible.

Participants can meet at the library once a week thru Oct, on Monday's from 5-6 p.m., to draw, discuss their drawings from the past week with others, and utilize the library's collection of books on art, drawing, and others related to the daily prompts.

The first meet-up will be on Oct 5. Paper and ink will be provided. Open to ages 10 thru adults.

The Ninilchik Community Library will be hosting it's 2nd Annual Christmas Stocking Bazaar on Dec 12-13, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. which will feature local-made crafts, gifts, and food.

This event is a fundraiser for the library. Vendor space is limited. If interested in being a vendor, the fee is $25 per day, and vendors are responsible for providing their own tables, displays, set-up and clean-up.

Ninilchik Community Library is now accepting letters of interest for one Board Seat, with term ending in 2029.

The Board is responsible for the long-term strategic direction of the library,  its financial stability and personnel management, and community advocavy and engagment to better serve the public.

If you are interested in being on the board, please submit your letter of interest by 5 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2026.

The Ninilchik Community Library's Annual Meeeting will be held Oct 13, 2026 from 6-7 p.m.

Explore the art of pen and ink in this hands-on Learning Series workshop at Ninilchik Community Library! Presenter Elizabeth will guide participants through the basics of this classic drawing technique — perfect for beginners and curious creators of all skill levels. Open to ages 5 and older. We are now offering TWO egg hunts!

🌸 Egg Hunt 1: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Designed for our littlest attendees — ages 1–4, homeschool families, and sensory-sensitive children who do best in smaller, quieter groups.

🌸 Egg Hunt 2: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Open to the public! We'll also be welcoming Ninilchik Elementary School students during this session.

All activities — Indoor Egg Hunt, Cupcake Walk, Coloring, Raffle Baskets, and the Jelly Bean Guessing Game — are available during BOTH sessions. FREE and open to the community!
